Bird race season on Kyabram Pigeon Club kicked off its racing season on July 17 with a race from Quambatook. Ian Trench took first place, with Brian Renshaw second and Bob Partridge third. The club held its second race, also from Quambatook, on July 25 with Bob Partridge taking the honours; his winning bird returned a velocity of 1052 m/minute. Don Peters (1048 m/minute) was second and Gary Beavis (1017 m/minute) was third. This weekend's race will be from another Mallee town, Sea Lake.
